The Greenpoint Film Festival was launched four years ago by the Brooklyn-based arts organization Woven Spaces Inc, to draw attention to and celebrate how far the Greenpoint community has come since its industrial history decades ago. As the film festival has grown, it has become equally committed to replacing the fuel industry of old with the growing film industry in North Brooklyn and using the festival as an opportunity to bring inspiring films to the community.
Our first festival is scheduled for September 18 - September 21, 2014, where we will showcase an extended Environmental Program and a special program curated by the David Lynch Foundation. We are eager to involve students who wish to learn how festivals are launched and those who are willing to be a part of collaborative effort.
