Our mission is to provide excellent artistic opportunities and produce arts and educational opportunities that range from workshops for youth and adults in puppetry, dance, visual arts and theatre, to professional performances by performing artists and theater companies in New York City, touring the USA and globally. The organization serves artistic ventures and encourages exploration of all performing arts forms, with an emphasis on the development of emerging artists working in collaboration with seasoned professionals. Our studios in DUMBO Brooklyn are offered free or at low cost to artists and community groups. Frequently the organization collaborates with neighborhood schools, gardeners, and performing arts venues to produce events that are suitable for ages 5 to 100; and our programs are led by Women, LGBT professionals; and Immigrant artists. The organization began serving the Lower East Side and East Village in 1974, with programs and activities citywide and globally.
