The Wood County Humane Society (WCHS) is an independent, non-profit, limited admission animal shelter located in Bowling Green, Ohio. The organization was founded in 1904, but we did not move into a permanent brick-and-mortar structure of our own until 1988. Our mission is to “be a community leader providing services and resources that enrich the relationship between animals and humans through advocacy, education, and animal welfare.” Toward that goal, WCHS offers animal shelter, affordable medical treatment, adoption, food/litter assistance programs, a Humane Agent, and more. To support the organizational operations, WCHS relies heavily on philanthropic giving.
