    Ohio Chapter of the Scleroderma Foundation - Coordinator Position

    The Ohio Chapter of the Scleroderma Foundation - is an affiliated state chapter of the national Scleroderma Foundation (www.scleroderma.org). Our Chapter serves the scleroderma community by providing educational and awareness programs and by funding medical research. Programs include Ohio support groups, educational forums, scleroderma advocacy and fundraisers. The Coordinator is managed by the Ohio Chapter Board of Directors.

    Hours: Generally, the responsibilities will require about 20 hours/week. More hours will be required during conferences and fundraising events. Less hours can be worked other weeks to compensate.

    Salary: $16,000 - $21,000 annually, commensurate with experience

    Benefits: Paid leave time, 10 paid holidays, dental and health insurance available through Foundation

    Location: Work from own home, except when attending Board Meetings (3/year) and events at various locations around the State.

    Duties:

    • Develop & manage educational programming such as Education Days & phone support group
    • Assist support groups, including facilitation of quarterly support group leader calls or meetings
    • Communicate by traditional and electronic newsletters, website, Facebook and mailings
    • Communicate with national office and respond to requests
    • Assist with state conference planning and management
    • Apply for grants to support the Chapter activities
    • Maintain membership database, keeping data current and sharing with Chapter leadership
    • Process donations and send membership renewal reminder letters
    • Prepare for Board and Chapter meetings, presenting Coordinator reports at meetings
    • Recruit and train volunteers and interns to assist Coordinator, Board and Support Group leaders
    • Promote advocacy, e.g., insuring letters prepared by the national office are signed and returned
    • Other duties as assigned by Chapter Board and in response to patient requests

    Required Skills and Abilities:

    • Program management: planning, implementation and marketing
    • Skills to implement strategic plan
    • Office organization and management skills
    • Clear oral and written communication
    • Excellent customer service skills to represent the Chapter professionally and courteously
    • Software proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn Foundation specific software
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

    Required Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor degree preferred
    • Work with non-profit organizations and volunteers in a managerial capacity
    • Organization of fundraisers and events
