The Children's Preschool

Founded in 1971, the Children’s Preschool is a cooperative play-based preschool program for children ages three through five. Approximately twenty-six children attend five mornings or full-days. We foster a dynamic and welcoming learning environment in our little urban oasis that celebrates the joys of childhood, collaboration, kindness, and creativity. In our mixed-age classroom, children develop empathy, learn to think critically, and master skills by engaging with each other and with their skilled and dedicated teachers. The Children’s Preschool cares deeply about inclusion and equity. We strive to serve as a support for the whole family, working in partnership with parents to meet the social, emotional, physical and intellectual needs of each child. All parents and teachers are members of the Preschool Council, and they share their talents and skills in a variety of ways to help the school run smoothly. We value the contributions of all children and each member of our caring community.
