We promote, coordinate, and initiate humanitarian, research, sustainable development, conservation, and educational activities in the Peruvian Amazonian. HUMANITARIAN ACTIVITIES include regular medical service trips (together with the Peruvian Ministry of Health) to remote areas, while emphasizing self-reliance on effective traditional remedies. We coordinate donations of medical supplies and equipment. RESEARCH & CONSERVATION activities center around four research stations on the Orosa, Apayacu and Mazan Rivers. Species lists are available for the fauna and flora of the sites. SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT activities promote active participation of rural communities in the sound management and sustainable harvesting and conservation of forest- and aquatic-based resources, both plant and animal. EDUCATION programs expose students and teachers to the complexity and importance of tropical ecosystems. We encourage collaboration at all levels, and encourage the teaching of traditional knowledge. We can accommodate courses at all levels (elementry to faculty workshops) and up to 30 persons.
