Synchronizing Action on Cacti Resiliency Directives (S.A.C.R.D) was formed by a group of like minded cacti lovers who recognized that the natural supply of Lophophora Williamsii, the Peyote cactus, was quickly vanishing.

This plant has blessed us as individuals bringing us together, as one. Discovering that we were connected through this sacrament was the catalyst to S.A.C.R.D being created. This passion grew into a reality and our dream project sprung into action, quickly.

S.A.C.R.D has designed a plan to safely and sustainably grow Lophophora Williamsii and place it back into the earth’s soil on protected plots of land with nurse/companion plants that will help them thrive naturally.

Over the next 5 years, our aim is to establish a collaborative network of sustainable greenhouses, cultivating 650,000 highly traceable seedlings. Out of these seedlings, we will plant 40% on protected plots of land to restore the population and ensure its long-term survival. Another 40% will remain in our greenhouses, where they can be carefully nurtured to maturity, relieving some of the pressure that ceremony is causing on the natural supply. The remaining 20% will be dedicated to supporting our seed banking efforts, preserving the genetic diversity and heritage of this sacred plant species.

We are the proud owners of 100,000 sustainably sourced Lophophora Williamsii seeds. To begin the process, we will germinate these seeds indoors under LED lights. The seedlings will receive the utmost care and attention before being transplanted. Upon reaching their one-year mark, these seedlings will be moved into our greenhouses, where they will undergo further transplantation. It is during this stage that they will continue to grow and develop, reaching maturity at three years. Once they reach this milestone, we will replant 40% of them back into the earth’s soil on highly secured and protected plots of land. An additional 40% will be cultivated and nurtured to maturity alleviating the strain on the natural supply caused by ceremonial practices. The remaining 20% will be specifically set aside for our seed banking efforts, ensuring the preservation of the genetic diversity and ancestral legacy of this revered plant species. This strategic approach allows us to reintroduce the Peyote cactus while ensuring the best chances for its successful establishment and growth.

S.A.C.R.D’s commitment to the restoration of the Peyote cactus population is an ongoing endeavor. We will continue to repeat this entire process over and over again until the population is fully restored. With your support, we can make a significant impact on the conservation and preservation of this culturally and spiritually significant plant, securing its future for generations to come.

Together, let us embark on this journey to protect and restore the sacred Peyote cactus.
