Salary Range: $73,000 - $75,000 (Depending on Experience and Language skills)

Schedule of Hours: Monday Through Friday 8-4 and will include evening and weekend hours for emergencies. 

Position Remote Eligible: Considered an On-Site position. Some desk work can be done through work at home. Needs to live within 20 min drive radius of San Mateo office in order to respond to emergency needs. 

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION Community Overcoming Relationship Abuse (CORA), is the only agency in San Mateo County providing crisis intervention and supportive services to survivors of domestic violence and their children, seeks a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee facilities-related items and safety concerns for four sites in San Mateo County.

POSITION SUMMARY This position serves as the main point of contact for all facilities-related items and safety concerns for four CORA buildings in San Mateo County. The Maintenance Supervisor oversees and performs routine repairs and preventative maintenance on building equipment and building systems efficiently and effectively and provides oversight of contractors / vendor technicians. Supervision of the Maintenance Specialist staff member is provided by this position. 

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

The successful candidate is able to accomplish hands on repairs and is able to source vendors when the work cannot be done in-house. Experience with plumbing, HVAC, painting, carpentry and electrical are key to the skill base for this role. The successful candidate will have experience overseeing the maintenance work of others as a supervisor. A knowledge base of the schedule of inspections needed to keep facilities safe and up to code, as well as a knowledge knowledge of emergency preparedness allows this individual to support the organization in keeping all clients safe. As the expert in supporting CORA’s facilities, the successful candidate will offer a system for tracking needs and tracking expenses to stay within the confines of the budget.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensures needed repairs and maintenance are attended to and completed in a timely manner. Frequently completes work orders in-house with assistance from Maintenance Specialist, performing minor repairs, moving furniture, painting, replacing light bulbs, setting up conference rooms for special events and other facilities duties.
• Primary point pf contact for any facilities related emergencies such as fire alarms and emergency plumbing issues. 
• Primary point of contact for facilities-related items for four sites (main building including 2211 and 2205, Lisa’s House, Coni’s House and East Palo Alto office). If CORA expands facilities, this position would incorporate these additions/ changes.
• Responsible for submitting expenses and working with administrative supervisor on the monitoring of budget for facilities expenses and for allocating costs to appropriate revenue sources. 
• Responsible for sourcing and vetting vendors and skilled technicians. Makes recommendations for approval and hiring of vendors. Primary staff responsible for supervision of vendors and vendor supported systems including but not limited to ordering equipment, supplies, alarm system and janitorial team.
• Responsible for Supervision of facilities staff including interim or other part time staff assigned to facilities work. Involved in hiring, retention, supervision of work and performance evaluations of these individuals. Responsible for oversight of any volunteer activity assisting facilities. 
• Responsible for the warehouse security and operations, including donations acceptance and disposals.
• Responsible for updating the emergency response plan and performing all required fire drills and upkeep of fire extinguishers, for all properties and keeping the fire drill log updated as well as other safety-related procedures.
• Serves as primary contact and lead for the agency wide Safety Emergency Response Team (SERT). 
• Performs miscellaneous facilities and agency duties as appropriate.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

• 3 years minimum experience in hands on work in several of the following related areas: Painting, Minor electrical, plumbing, landscape maintenance, and general handyman construction / carpentry. 

• Microsoft office suite experience including outlook emails and calendaring preferred.  

• Familiarity with community-based services and vendors in San Mateo County preferred.

• Other language skills related to community needs, such as Spanish, strongly preferred. 

• Completion of 40-hour domestic violence training. Candidates who have not completed the training will be provided this training by CORA.  

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to work under conditions such as heat, dust, and rain for prolonged periods and work in an environment that may require prolonged walking, stooping, bending, sitting, or walking in close space. Additionally, must be able to assist in moving and transporting items such as sofas and chairs for program or client needs. 

• Background check, including fingerprinting clearance from the Department of Justice; Demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States.

• Valid CA driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and insurance required. Willingness to travel to multiple sites within San Mateo County required.
