WHERE YOU’LL FIT IN THE TEAM:

The Development & Administrative Associate will be an integral part of the Engagement & Growth Team and the Human Resources, Finance, and Administration (HRFA) Team. This position will support the organization’s fundraising and recruitment, finance, human resources, and administrative functions. This includes donor research, data management, coordinating logistics, and assisting with the smooth functioning of the teams. This position is a non-exempt position.  This position performs some similar responsibilities on behalf of a 501(c)(4) sister organization focused on building relationships with and electing progressive candidates with a focus on under-represented communities. 

The position is located in Washington, D.C. Currently, staff may choose to work remotely from within the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia areas (commonly referred to as the DMV). This position requires in-person presence at least one day per week and the ability to be available for special projects requiring additional in-office presence as needed. Occasional travel is required to Sacramento and around the Washington, D.C. area to attend meetings as needed. The position title is officially “Growth & Administrative Associate.” The title “Development & Administrative Associate” is used in this job posting for ease of understanding regarding the position’s responsibilities.

 WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Development and Donor Member Enlistment: Support annual fundraising from existing donor members and recruitment of new donor members, as well as institutional funders. Conduct research and relationship-mapping to identify new politically-connected donors. Responsible for data management, recordkeeping, and reporting regarding all organizational fundraising efforts.
  • Finance: Receive and track contributions, ensuring they arrive at the organization’s fiscal sponsor for processing. Reconcile revenue and fundraising records.
  • Human Resources: Support employee hiring and assist with the planning for staff activities and other forms of employee engagement/support.
  • Administration and Operations: Assist with organizational administration, including supporting the functioning of the Board of Directors, file retention, data management, software use, and technology access. Maintain office operations by managing office supplies and the appearance of the National Office. Support similar needs in other V4P locations as well as logistics for events. Provide general and administrative support for the Growth and HRFA staff and clerical and scheduling support for the President. Assist with expense card reports.

  • Compensation: The salary for this position is $48,000 (+) ​​plus overtime as needed. The final salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

  • 403(b) Plan: We match 100% of the first 4% of your contributions and 50% of the next 2% for a maximum of 5% of your salary. You are vested immediately.

(12 paid personal leave days, 12 sick days, 14 paid wellness days, 12 holidays, 3 floating holidays, and 7 days of paid office closures, including a one-week summer break and a one-week winter break).
  • Paid Leave of Absence Policy: Paid for any FMLA-covered event, including parental or family leave, with no waiting period.
  • Pre-Tax FSA Plan: medical, dependent care, and transit elections.
  • Cell Phone Stipend: $75 monthly to support cell phone expenses.
  • Loan Forgiveness: Based on our 501(c)(3) status, you can receive loan forgiveness under the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • At least two years of experience in a related field (e.g. non-profit development, political fundraising, administrative support, or other types of relevant experience). 
  • Some knowledge of fundraising, preferably with major donors and foundations or unions.
  • Experience in general office and administrative work.
  • Superb attention to detail and ability to organize significant amounts of information.
  • Very strong computer skills, and willingness to learn new software as needed. Competency with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and Google Suite required. Experience with Salesforce or similar donor database and Monday.com or project management software preferred. Experience with DonorSearch or similar donor prospecting software is a plus. 
  • Able to manage many small assignments simultaneously and structure own work processes.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced multi-office organization, in which change is not uncommon.
  • Clear communicator.
  • A team player who collaborates well with others. 
  • Interested in and follows current events and progressive policy issues.
