WHAT WILL YOU DO
During the first two years as The Global Pathbuilders Fellow, you will receive personalized support and
resources to strategize, design, and launch a new Christel House school, gaining hands-on experience from experienced CEOs and their teams. This immersive Fellowship will help you understand the Christel House model in-depth and support you in implementing the model in your country.
In the second year of the Fellowship, you will transition to the Chief Executive Officer of Christel House in your country, where you will implement the Christel House model and lead the programmatic and non programmatic aspects of the organization, including but not limited to external relations, fundraising, board management, organizational culture, human capital, strategy, compliance, finance, and operations.
FELLOW KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Immersion and Learning: Engage in an intensive induction at Christel House's headquarters and participate in an immersion program at CH schools to understand the CH model and interact with educational leaders.
Contextual Reflection and Vision Development: Develop a vision for the school that aligns with the CH model and addresses the specific needs of low-income communities in the home country.
Vision and Blueprint Design: Create a preliminary school blueprint covering strategies for fundraising, operations, curriculum, and staffing. Incorporate feedback from CHI leadership and experts, and secure approval to start hiring the founding team.
Networking and Advisory Board Formation: Build a local network, form a local board, and engage with community leaders and stakeholders to establish strong support for the school.
Team Formation: Begin forming the foundational school team by hiring key members during the end-of - year period.
Resource Mobilization and Infrastructure: Secure initial funding and resources and develop a clear plan for the school’s launch.
Finalizing Funding and Operational Plan: Complete a detailed financial and operational blueprint, ensuring the school is ready for the next phase and a successful launch.
Launch Strategy and Presentation: Refine the final launch strategy, and secure approval and support from Christel House International’s board to prepare for the school’s launch.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES FROM YEAR 3 ONWARDS AS THE CEO OF THE COUNTRY NETWORK
Cultural Leader: Ensure alignment with Christel House’s vision, mission, and values across the organization. Lead with resilience during challenges and maintain regular communication with staff to inspire, reinforce priorities, share results transparently, celebrate successes, and address areas for improvement.
Strategic Planning and Goal Setting: Set and manage both annual and long-term programmatic,
operational, and financial goals, ensuring they align with measurable indicators of success. Implement
systems to track progress and use data to drive continuous improvement.
Programmatic Leadership: Lead the implementation of the Christel House model, ensuring services are effectively managed and of high quality. Drive programmatic improvements by utilizing alumni outcomes, best practices, and stakeholder collaboration, while promoting the innovation and scaling of solutions to enhance student success.
Human Capital: Oversee the recruitment, development, and retention of a diverse and high-performing workforce. Promote and model organizational values and implement talent management strategies with a focus on developing a strong leadership pipeline throughout the organization.
Operations, Finance, and Accountability: Ensure compliance with Christel House policies and principles and manage operations and facilities to support safe and effective programs. Oversee the development and management of budgets, ensuring financial viability and strategic resource management, while monitoring student recruitment and enrollment.
Governance: Engage Board members collaboratively and recruit new members with the skills and experience necessary to advance the organization’s mission. Foster ethical governance practices with the highest standards of integrity, ensuring alignment with Christel House’s goals and values.
External Relations, Marketing, and Development: Set and implement strategies for marketing, public
relations, fundraising, and donor relations. Maintain and build relationships with key influencers and
stakeholders, stay informed on relevant legislation and best practices, and serve as the organization’s
primary spokesperson to promote the Christel House brand through various channels.
QUALIFICATIONS
• At least 10 years of professional experience
• A minimum of 5 years in leadership roles
• Strong entrepreneurial skills
• A successful track record in fundraising
• A demonstrated commitment to improving the lives of others
• Applicants must also be citizens or permanent residents of Peru, Colombia, Ghana, Kenya, Nepal, or
Bangladesh
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
• Education & Regulatory Ecosystem: Foundational understanding of the education ecosystem and
regulatory aspects of setting up an institution in their country.
• Fundraising: Demonstrated experience in developing fundraising strategies, hands-on experience in
raising funds from regional institutions, and skills in assembling a strong fundraising team.
• Leadership Experience: At least 5 years of experience leading organizations or initiatives, with a focus on building support for a larger vision and leading an organization towards its goals.
• Operations, Finance, and Governance: A proven track record in managing operational, financial, and
governance aspects in previous roles.
SKILLS
• Strategic Thinking & Planning: Proficiency in developing a vision for an excellent education and the
strategic acumen to create effective plans, ensuring high-quality implementation of the Christel House
Model.
• Critical Thinking and Problem Solving: Skilled in resolving complex issues, adept at analyzing and
addressing people, process, and system level challenges.
• Communication: Exceptional ability to inspire and tell persuasive stories, mobilizing people and resources toward the organization's goals.
• Effective Relationship Building: Demonstrated capability to forge strong connections with diverse
stakeholders at various levels.
• Team Management: Expertise in assembling and managing dynamic teams, fostering a robust
organizational culture that aligns with Christel House's values and objectives.
