    Descrição

    Core Purpose: The Senior Organizer works with the Executive Director to staff the National Campaign for Transit Justice and the Clean Rides Initiative, projects of the Alliance for a Just Society (AJS) and 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. 

    The Senior Organizer has responsibility for developing and implementing organizational programs to advance the National Campaign for Transit Justice and the Clean Rides Initiative. This includes building and supporting the transit network, developing key constituencies, advancing a leadership development program, and mobilizing to win campaigns.

    Key responsibilities include: 

    Leadership: Work with the Executive Director to build long-range strategies synced with its mission and a unifying vision, and toward which it makes consistent and timely progress; creates space to identify and explore new ideas and opportunities. Ensures programs, fundraising and operations are aligned with the mission and long-range strategy. Leads annual and strategic project planning. 

    National Network: Senior Organizer builds, supports and maintains the national network. This includes building strong working relationships with current participants, expanding participation by doing outreach to new organizations, building relationships, bringing them into national meetings and activities. Work to build action propositions that are reviewed by the larger network and drive participation in activities that lift up the National Campaign. Working with the Executive director in implementing the strategic campaign and communication plans, and supporting fundraising efforts. 

    Organizational Relationships: Serves as ambassador, spokesperson, and face of Alliance for a Just Society with other institutions and the general public. Develops and maintains relationships with key allies, elected officials, tribal leaders and decision-makers. 

    Administration: Ensures the organizational, operational, legal and financial health and effectiveness of the campaign. Works closely with the Administrative Director to meet all administrative deadlines including: timely submission of all staff receipts, attend optional monthly meetings to review cash flow, event needs and review financial statements and implementation of the budgeting process. 

    Fundraising: Supports the Executive Director and Fundraising contractor to build and maintain a diverse and sustainable funding base; as assigned establishes and maintains relationships with funders and donors; ensures that grant commitments are met; and effectively collaborates with partner organizations in joint fundraising. 

    Leadership Development: As resources are developed, attracts, retains and motivates a diverse set of grassroots leaders. Support the development and implementation of leadership training, skills building through the programing of network calls. 

    Team Work: Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with an ability to establish a positive rapport with people from a variety of backgrounds Ability to work independently to meet goals and report back to the team. 

    Location: TBD

    Status: Full-time, exempt. This role requires flexibility including working some nights and weekends.

    Salary & benefits: Starting salary is $85-89,000 depending on experience. Benefits (medical, dental, vision, retirement, disability, and as listed in the policy manual).
