Whilst we organise at a larger scale to change the inequalities pressing on the daily lives of people living on the frontlines of inequality, we will also build people powered alternatives to the current system. Join FIA as a Digital Strategist and Transform the Future!

Are you a visionary in the digital world with a passion for driving engagement and action? Step into a role where your digital expertise will make a difference. FIA is looking for a Digital Strategist to join our Communications and Media Team. Be a key player in our mission to engage millions and lead the fight against inequality.

About the role:

As FIA’s Digital Strategist, you will be at the forefront of designing and implementing our digital engagement strategy. Your role is crucial in delivering the global elements of our 10-year roadmap and strategy. You will lead the global development and monitoring of content, driving engagement across digital platforms to achieve our ambitious goal of engaging 10 million people online by 2026. Additionally, you will lead digital analytics reporting and enhance the digital and social media skills of our staff and alliance members.

What you’ll do:

Lead the design and implement the digital engagement strategy

Grow and increase engagement of FIA global email list

Publish content and manage community engagement in social media for global social media channels.

Analyse latest digital trends and update our digital strategy accordingly

Manage the website, ensuring that the website is regularly updated with a wide range of compelling content and that the website becomes the pre-eminent website in driving action on fighting inequalities.

Report on all digital channels and their performance (social media, email, website, ads)

Coordinate communications and digital engagement officers in regional and national alliances for strategic global activities and campaigns.

Build digital campaigning skills capacity within FIA by providing training to staff and the members.

What we’re looking for:

Minimum 6 years’ experience in a digital strategy role or similar

Experience building comprehensive digital campaigns.

Digital marketing work experience in-house or agency

Well versed in Search Engine Optimisation, inbound marketing, content, social and web design concepts.

Experience in analytics, extracting conclusions and action plans from the data.

Proficiency in digital communications and social media management, including content management systems, email marketing platforms, and social media analytics tools.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, fluency in English (additional languages preferred)

Commitment to FIA's values, including a strong feminist understanding, advocacy for diversity and inclusion, and grassroots organising

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and drive innovation in communication strategies

Position type: Two-year contract

Salary: As per FIA salary scale which can be accessed here

Location: Remote, Home based (preference for the Global South)

Reporting to: Communications and Media Lead
