The Peace Corps recruits U.S. citizens to serve in developing countries around the world. Peace Corps Volunteers undergo 3 months of training and dedicate 2 years of service overseas, working in the following areas: agriculture, environment, youth development, health, community ecomonic development, and education.
In addition to an experience of a lifetime, Peace Corps Volunteers receive paid travel and living expenses, medical and dental benefits, a $8,000 readjustment allowance at the end of service and non-competitive eligibility for federal jobs.
