The Consumer Protection Division provides mediation and arbitration services to consumers to help resolve complaints against businesses and health insurance carriers; registers health clubs and new home builders; and produces a wide array of consumer education materials.
Our volunteers provide an invaluable service to Maryland consumers. They respond to consumer inquiries on the telephone hotline, and mediate consumer complaints against businesses and health care providers. They settle disputes in sales, repairs, debt collection, defective products, false advertising, health clubs, housing and medical bills.
Volunteers receive training in mediation and learn valuable skills.
Our main office is in Baltimore, and we also use volunteers in our branch office in Largo in Prince George's County.
