The Neighborhood Services Division of the Department of Public Works is tasked with preventing deterioration in the neighborhoods and making sure that the communities are well-kept. Because of its potential to deteriorate communities, graffiti and its abatement are a responsibility of Neighborhood Services. The Division’s Graffiti Abatement Program works to increase abatement by the property owner, documents the public nuisance, and facilitates public-private partnerships when abatement must be accomplished by citizen volunteers.
