Bronx High School for the Visual Arts

The Bronx HS for the Visual Arts is a small high school located in the Morris Park section of the Bronx. We have our own building and provide an intimate, learning community for our students, where they are well known by the adults around them. We are dedicated to providing our students with a strong visual arts-based program, which provides students with access to courses that lead to Advanced Regents diplomas with a special arts designation. We were one of the first Bronx-based schools to offer a CTE program in Visual Arts and Graphic Design and are offering students opportunities to gain college credits while in HS. We were accepted into the Chancellor’s AP for All program and are increasing our ability to provide students with AP courses and more college readiness options that will ensure they can compete for college entry and scholarship opportunities.At BHSVA, our mission is to ensure that students graduate with the skills, aptitude, and passion for learning necessary for post-secondary achievement. We will nurture and empower our diverse learners to develop their unique talents and abilities through an arts-integrated program that promotes critical thinking and develops social-emotional development.
