Region 16 Comprehensive Center

WHO WE ARE

Region 16 Comprehensive Center (R16CC or “Center”) is one of 19 comprehensive centers funded by the U.S. Department of Education (US ED) in 2019 to help state education agencies (SEAs) implement mission critical work. The comprehensive center model focuses on efforts to transform system conditions that all students need to thrive, beginning with those struggling in the current public education system. 

As a consortium of educational services agencies across Alaska, Oregon, and Washington,  we cultivate an extensive network of external partners who agree that transforming the system of education into a place where every student thrives requires a collective approach. We have three state-based project teams and a Center team that supports overall functioning, collaboration, and accountability across the entire Center. 

We are a team of passionate, energetic professionals who each possess distinct skills and experiences. We live and work in the communities we serve, and we believe that our work should be based on shared stewardship and the assets of the communities we serve. We use shared leadership practices to uphold individual and collective talents and approach our work  in a non-hierarchical, community-led, collaborative model to create tailored, timely educational resources that meet the unique needs of our clients.
