Position Title:
Board Member – Neurodivergent Holistic and Mindful Community Wellness Advocate
About Alora:
At Alora, we’re all about creating spaces where neurodivergent individuals and caregivers can feel truly supported and understood. Our work is rooted in mindfulness, holistic practices, and a deep commitment to fostering wellness for everyone who’s part of this community. We know life isn’t one-size-fits-all, and we’re looking for someone who shares that perspective to join us on our board.
If you’re passionate about supporting neurodivergent communities, believe in holistic wellness, and are ready to help us grow and evolve, we’d love to have you.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Helping Shape Our Future: You’ll work with the board to guide Alora’s strategy and make sure we’re always aligned with our mission to support neurodivergent individuals and caregivers through mindful and holistic programs.
- Creating Meaningful Programs: Your input will help us develop wellness and support programs that truly meet the needs of neurodivergent individuals and caregivers in a way that feels accessible, compassionate, and authentic.
- Fundraising & Outreach: Together, we’ll brainstorm and execute fundraising ideas and build relationships with donors and partners who believe in our mission.
- Connecting with the Community: You’ll get the chance to engage with our members, volunteers, and partners, showing up at events and helping to foster a sense of connection and belonging within Alora.
- Financial Oversight: We’ll look to you for help in making financial decisions that keep Alora sustainable and transparent in all that we do.
- Being an Ambassador: You’ll be one of our voices, helping spread the word about what Alora stands for and advocating for holistic and mindful approaches to neurodivergent care in your circles.
What We’re Looking For:
- A Passion for Advocacy: You have experience with or deep empathy for neurodivergent communities, caregivers, and holistic wellness.
- Mindful Leadership: You lead with empathy, presence, and an understanding of how important mindfulness and holistic approaches are to well-being.
- Experience with Nonprofits: If you’ve been on a board before or have experience with nonprofit work, that’s great, but we’re also open to those who are newer to this kind of role.
- Strong Communication: You’re comfortable talking to people from all walks of life and can communicate with clarity and care.
- Collaborative Spirit: You enjoy working with others and bringing ideas to the table. You’re excited about contributing to a team that’s driven by purpose.
- Commitment: You’re willing to dedicate time to board meetings (monthly, virtual or in person) and participate in Alora’s key initiatives and events.
Time Commitment:
- Monthly board meetings (virtual or in-person)
- Participation in at least one key committee (fundraising, program development, community engagement, etc.)
- Occasional involvement in Alora’s events and outreach efforts
What You’ll Get Out of It:
- Impact: You’ll have the chance to make a real difference in the lives of neurodivergent individuals and caregivers by helping guide Alora’s mission and growth.
- Personal & Professional Growth: Being part of Alora means being part of a community that supports growth—whether that’s learning new skills or deepening your understanding of mindfulness and holistic practices.
- Networking: You’ll connect with a diverse, passionate group of holistic practitioners, advocates, and community members who are all working toward a common goal.
