Volunteer Organizer

Generation180 runs national, clean energy education campaigns using creative communications and organizing strategies rooted in behavioral science that inspire people to act. The focus of this Volunteer Organizer role will be on our Electrify Your Life campaign.

•  Electrify Your Life: a campaign that educates consumers, communities, workplaces, and policymakers about electrification- including electric vehicles (EVs), heat pumps and other electric home appliances, and community decarbonization actions.

Volunteer Organizers will create a plan to educate, engage, and inspire action in their local community. This plan can include, but is not limited to bringing others together, hosting virtual or in person events, and creating a community of people taking clean energy actions where they live. Organizers will deliver a plan, share photos/videos, collect stories, speak at events, share information and connect others to direct actions they can take in their homes and communities. Volunteer organizers are expected to contribute ~60 hours over 4-6 months and will be paid a $1,500 stipend toward their time and expenses. Applications from organizers in the following states will be prioritized – NC, PA, and VA.

Preferred Qualifications

We are seeking volunteers with a high degree of organization, and a positive, professional attitude. Ideal candidates will have experience with home or community electrification, local experience working for positive change, a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and a passion for Generation180’s mission. Generation180 welcomes and values volunteers with diverse and unique backgrounds and experiences, including women, people of color, and LGBTQA individuals.

Location

Volunteer Organizers will work remotely and will focus on work in the region/state where they live. Volunteer organizer applications from the following states will be prioritized – NC, PA, and VA.
