Board Member (C4)

Founded by Executive Director Syrita Steib, Opportunity 2 Restore, (O2R) is a Louisiana-based 501(c)4 nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing the rate of incarceration for women and girls by working directly with legislators and policy makers to advocate for the passage and implementation of policies that impact women and girls impacted by the legal system. We are seeking volunteer leaders to join our C4 board of directors.

Board members are actively involved in organizational governance, are expected to attend 4 quarterly meetings (April, July, October and December), participate in at least 1 working group during the year, make a meaningful, personal financial contribution (or commit to raising those funds) and secure at least 2 donors and manage those relationships to advance the work and mission of the organization.

Based on our recent review of board skills and considering our state and national priorities, we are seeking board members who will compliment and help broaden our current board knowledge and skills. For this reason, we encourage applicants with nonprofit accounting, finance, policy administration, legal, legislative and advocacy and social justice reform backgrounds and experience. Individuals that are formerly incarcerated or justice-impacted are strongly encouraged to apply.

Our work is done on a national level. For this reason, we encourage and accept board applications from anywhere in the U.S. At the same time however; because of our 64-parish project across the state of Louisiana, this is our focus and we are prioritizing applications from Louisiana at this time.

Syrita Steib is also the Founder, President & CEO of Operation Restoration (OR), a 501c3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to support supports women and girls impacted by incarceration to recognize their full potential, restore their lives, and discover new possibilities.
