Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of others? Do you have a heart full of empathy and a desire to provide comfort and companionship to those facing end-of-life journeys? If so, we invite you to join our compassionate team as a hospice volunteer.
At Gentiva Hospice we are dedicated to enhancing the end-of-life journey with dignity, compassion, and support. Our hospice program provides comprehensive care for patients and their families, focusing on quality of life and comfort during this challenging time.
As a hospice volunteer, you will have the opportunity to make a profound impact on the lives of patients and their families.
Your role may include:
- Providing companionship and emotional support to patients
- Offering respite care to caregivers so they can take a quick break
- Talk, watch movies, read aloud, play games, color or do anything fun
- Sharing your talents and hobbies to enhance the quality of life for patients
- Visit your assigned patient two or three times per month (we discuss this first)
Requirements
- Compassionate and empathetic nature
- Willingness to undergo training and background checks and drug screen (not THC/marijuana)
- Availability to commit to one hospice patient
- Be at least 18 years old (16 if you want to volunteer in just the office)
- a TB test within the last year (if you don't have we will send you to get one)
- Have an ID of some kind, driver's license is preferred

¿Cómo llegar?
Across from a fire station and down the street from Carvana. We are at 22nd Street and Jorie Blvd. except Jorie Blvd. changes names to Enterprise Drive north of 22nd Street. Our building is on the corner. Take elevator to floor one (1) and look for Suite 111. Please do not park under the building; park in the regular lot around the building.
