AMURTEL Haiti is a non-profit organization run entirely by women and has worked in Port au Prince and the Haitian countryside for over 18 years. It continues as a one of few remaining organizations supporting grassroots relief and reconstruction in vulnerable areas of the capital. Based in the philosophy and practice of yoga, our mission is to provide immediate and long-term relief to Haiti’s most vulnerable: women and children. We direct several neo-humanist education centers and children’s homes, as well as empowerment and microcredit groups for women and young girls in Port au Prince and Ansapit, on the Haitian- Dominican border.
