AnimalKind is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Raleigh, NC. Our mission is to end the unnecessary euthanasia of adoptable cats and dogs in NC shelters.
Our organization and programs grew out of a national need to address the overpopulation of adoptable cats and dogs in our shelters. Currently over 2.5 million sheltered animals are euthanized in the US on a yearly basis, just to make room for more, and over 120,000 of those occurred in NC in 2014.
Prevention is the only way to stop the deadly cycle of pet overpopulation, and research indicates that 80% of pet overpopulation comes from as few as 3% of pet owners who are unable to afford the cost of the spay/neuter surgery.
AnimalKind owns and operates ReTails Thrift Shop at 2821 Spring Forest Road in Raleigh, NC. 100% of net profits from ReTails Thrift Shop support our spay/neuter programs.
