Canyonlands Field Institute (CFI) is a 501(c)( 3) nonprofit outdoor education organization and licensed outfitter located in the red rock country of Moab, Utah. CFI operates by permits in partnership with the National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service, States of Utah and Colorado, and the Navajo Nation.
Our mission is to provide quality outdoor education on the Colorado Plateau, to inspire care of wild places, and renew the human spirit. We achieve this mission through outdoor education programs for all ages. Today, CFI is nationally known for its educational rafting trips, field study programs at Professor Valley Field Camp, and specialized adult trips that explore topics of local flora and fauna, archaeology, and Navajo culture. CFI boasts 5,000 participant days of quality outdoor education every year! Within those participant days, CFI hosts over 25 school and youth groups, runs 5 summer camp programs, holds over 15 career training positions, and dedicates a quarter of its underwriting to local youth programs.
