Rebel Cause, INC. (RCI) is a non-profit organization founded in 2016 by a coalition of LGBTQIA+, Black, and Indigenous young people to cultivate equitable and sustainable communities. We are committed to providing opportunities for social and economic growth to peer BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ aligned community grassroots organizations, activists, artists, and entrepreneurs.

The Corporation is organized for the purpose of carrying out any and all lawful charitable activities according to Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954, as amended from time to time. These activities could include, but are not limited to:

    1. facilitate the collaboration of marginalized young adults seeking to improve the quality of life in their impoverished communities through the implementation and coordination of comprehensive social programs and community initiatives
    2.  promote within those communities the development of projects aimed towards circumventing the perpetuation of the racial generational wealth disparity
    3.  create civic, educational, and employment opportunities for the advancement of impoverished marginalized youth

RCI was founded as, and continues to be, a Black-led organization that values relationship building, anti-capitalist orientations, and horizontal leadership and decision-making. We adhere to a vision informed by one of the many interpretations of Afro-futurism—in that, we imagine liberation for Black folks through creating a future that addresses and transcends the harms of colonialism, racism, misogynoir, and queer and transphobia. We prioritize marginalized people identifying as BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, undocumented, impoverished, food insecure, homeless, and formerly or currently incarcerated residents within the Greater Boston area.

RCI operates as an incubator, facilitating cross-collaboration between groups of disenfranchised people seeking to improve their quality of life. We are a power-building, power-within, movement-based coalition. Our focus is storytelling, mutual aid, resource sharing, and capacity and coalition building. We partner with local BIPOC grassroots organizations, artists, activists, and entrepreneurs to help bolster local activists' initiatives, grant exposure to artists, offer reputable experiences to our creative partners, participate in fiscal sponsorship to support developing organizations, and aid in our communities' financial advancement. Our primary goal is to develop a global, Black-governed ecosystem by directly supporting Black-led organizations, projects, and mutual aid models and promoting equity and representation for marginalized communities.
