Our Mission The mission of the Urban League movement is to enable the undeserved and disadvantage people in securing economic self-reliance, parity, power and civil rights. We are a historic civil rights organization founded in 1918 as a part of the National Urban League and dedicated to economic empowerment in order to elevate the standard of living in historically undeserved urban communities. Our efforts are spread through the development of programs, public policy research and advocacy.
