The Neighborhood Centers of Johnson County is dedicated to building a better future for people in low-income neighborhoods through programs that educate, foster self-esteem, strengthen families, and create a sense of community. NCJC offers neighborhood and school-based education and support programs and activities for children and families. For children this includes accredited early childhood classes, before and after-school programs, summer camps, teen groups, tutoring, and pre-employment training. Adult activities include home visits, parenting education classes, ELL classes, and neighborhood gatherings focused on creative endeavors and fellowship. Low-income families are our primary focus. We address the needs that can trap families in a cycle of vulnerability and obstruct their progress towards self-sufficiency, stability, good health, and happiness.
