The Iowa Youth Writing Project (IYWP) is a volunteer-powered writing and literacy outreach organization that aims to empower and inspire K-12 youth throughout Eastern Iowa using language arts and creative thinking. Housed in the University of Iowa's Magid Center for Undergraduate Writing, the IYWP provides one-of-a-kind writing, publishing, and creative learning opportunities to Iowa’s children and teens, with an emphasis on marginalized youth. To ensure that all young people can participate, the IYWP provides programs no cost, thanks to the time, energy, and creativity of IYWP volunteers, partnerships with local organizations and institutions, and the generosity of community members.
