Kinston Teens, Inc.

The mission of Kinston Teens, Inc. is to empower young people through service, leadership, and civic engagement. We operate at the intersection of youth empowerment and community development.

Kinston Teens has played a significant role in empowering young people to be productive citizens of our community, and to make positive differences in their lives and the lives of others. Our organization has been on the frontlines building and advocating for initiatives that address poverty and food insecurity, responding to devastating hurricanes and flooding, addressing needs that rise from the COVID-19 crisis, and more. We primarily operate in Kinston's East Kinston neighborhood, where we are deepening our impact through the expansion of our city's first full-scale resilience hub. East Kinston is a historically underserved and flood impacted neighborhood that is home to the #1 most economically distressed census tract in North Carolina.
