CORE is the national organization and advocacy group of established and newly developing boarding schools for economically and socially disadvantaged youth. CORE’s mission is to promote residential education for youth whose homes or communities cannot sufficiently meet their needs, and to strengthen both individual programs and the field of residential education by: · Increasing public awareness and support for boarding schools and children’s homes for disadvantaged children and youth; · Enhancing and sharing effective professional practices; · Educating and winning support of policymakers; and · Assisting the development of new boarding schools and children’s homes.
