The stated mission of the 501 (c) (3) non-profit, Light Lion Arts is to produce a variety of film, media, literary and artistic content that promotes openness, inclusion, healing, consciousness, mental health awareness and community building. Founded by the poet, writer and comedian, Ben Evans ("Benji the Light Lion") and digital media specialist Ryan Daly, Light Lion Arts' dual aims are to deliver challenging, oftentimes humorous, content created by a diverse cast of talented artists that address difficult issues like addiction, psychological trauma, racism and social division, in addition to forging more serious, longer form projects that explore the often complex processes of healing, recovery and making it "around the game board" in an age that has become ever more loud, distressing and hyper-stimulating.
Among Light Lion Arts' many current foci are raising funds for the documentary, "The Next Fix" (initially titled "Dead Meat") "The Next Fix" will feature a varied and diverse case of talented and deeply conscious characters and has already secured the commitments of the award-winning documentary filmmakers Michael McDermit and Jacob Koestler (both of Blurry Pictures).
