Junior Achievement of Arizona

Our mission is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. Our goal is to have every student in Arizona achieve their highest potential; at a minimum, a high school diploma.

Our programs are funded by businesses, foundations and individuals, and are designed to be taught in the classroom by business, parent, and community volunteers. Classroom volunteers make economic concepts relevant, fuel the entrepreneurial spirit, and challenge the students to excel. JA's unique delivery system provides the training, materials, and support necessary to ensure a positive experience. Our materials include curriculum for elementary, middle and high school students.

We also offer JA BizTown, a nationally recognized, innovative learning program that provides 5th and 6th grade students with an understanding of basic economic concepts as well as “consumer” skills they will use as adults. Through in-class instruction, students learn first hand what it takes to create a business, produce a newspaper, supervise employees, hold an elected office and personally earn and manage money. Students will then become the citizens of a 7,000 square foot child-size city, which consists of 14 business enterprises. Each “citizen” will be responsible for a specific job that is crucial to the overall success of their city.
