The Joy Bus

The Joy Bus is a nonprofit whose sole purpose is to relieve the daily struggles of people with cancer by delivering a fresh and healthy meal with a friendly face. Our mission is to improve the lives of our patients through good food and company.

The Joy Bus Meal Delivery Program works to improve the lives of some of the most vulnerable in our community by delivering soul- healing meals with a compassionate, smiling face directly to the doorstep of people who are homebound after cancer diagnosis or treatment. We work tirelessly to address the needs of adults and children with cancer, eliminating food insecurity and improving mental health by decreasing feelings of loneliness and isolation. Delicious, healthful meals, made with fresh organic produce are delivered each week to our clients by compassionate volunteers in eco-friendly and chemical free packaging. Tucked into each paper bag that has been decorated by a community member is an informational sheet on the nutritional power of the ingredients used and how this will support their fight against cancer. The nutritional and psychological outcomes of this program are significant, ultimately improving patients' quality of life in the face of a devastating disease.
