Triumph Over Stroke Program

The Triumph Over Stroke Program of Georgetown University is now looking for interns to serve as DC Stroke Educators. Currently, African Americans have twice the risk of stroke compared to Caucasians and are less likely to receive the appropriate treatment. Triumph Over Stroke is a NIH-funded research project that aims to increase the number of African Americans who receive rapid stroke treatment in order to improve the quality of life for stroke survivors in Washington, DC. DC Stroke Educators will work directly with District community members to increase awareness of stroke warning signs, risk factors and healthy living decision making.
