Established in 1977, NeighborWorks of Pueblo is a private non-profit organization. Our mission is to revitalize Pueblo’s older neighborhoods and assist families with homeownership.

From the beginning, NeighborWorks has recognized that owning a home is the American dream. When families own their home the money they spend each month is an investment in their future, not a landlord's. In 1996, NeighborWorks began the Affordable Housing Program to help Pueblo's working families fulfill the dream of owning their own home. NeighborWorks’ comprehensive homebuyer education is part of a long-term solution to a problem; not a hand out, but a hand up.

NWP has worked to revitalize neighborhoods all over Pueblo providing:

    • Rehabilitation of more than 1,000 homes.
    • Construction of 119 new homes.
    • Community volunteer projects such as Operation Paintbrush, which has resulted in 522 homes painted for the low-income, elderly, and disabled population throughout Pueblo.
    • Resident Leadership training has assisted the Eiler Heights Neighborhood Association in recruiting members, the formation of their 501(c)(3) neighborhood organization and continued access to community building resources.

    • Pre-purchase counseling to 2,550 families in affordable homeownership.
    • Financing assistance to more than 1,061 families Inspection of 1,059 homes for structural, health and safety issues.
