    Mission Statement

We are an affordable, non-profit community for assisted and independent living where residents and their families are cherished. Christian principles guide the love and support we provide.

Walton Retirement Home is a registered 501 (c)(3) NonProfit Organization

History of the Walton Retirement Home

In 1942, James and Sarah Walton gave their nine-room house with several acres of land to Ohio Yearly Meeting of Friends (Quakers) to be used as a “Home for the Aged.” It was opened in 1944, with five residents. Walton continues to this day as a mission of the Ohio Yearly Meeting. You can learn more about the Ohio Yearly Meeting here: ohioyearlymeeting.org

Today, Walton Retirement Home offers thirty-three private rooms, each with their own bath. We are a licensed Residential Care Facility or Assisted Living Community, as it is more commonly known.

In addition, Walton also provides independent housing. There are presently seven apartments, one, two, and three bedroom options available. Plans are forthcoming to expand our independent options.

As in every situation, the Board and the Management of Walton Home are always looking for improvements in their quest to provide a better and more comprehensive service to our residents. Over the last ten years the Walton Home has spent over two million dollars to upgrade its facility.
