The Joint Industry Board (JIB) was chartered in 1943 to administer life insurance policies and over time established pension, disability, hospitalization, education, dental, and other plans for the benefit of members of the Local Union No. 3 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Other services now include the direct provision and administration of health insurance, medical care, skills and safety training, job placement, housing, scholarships and worker’s compensation. The Board represents over 400 employers and 30,000 electrical workers and their families in the tri-state area.
