Meals on Wheels of Asheville and Buncombe County, founded in 1976, provides hot, nutritious meals to homebound seniors, helping them remain independent and live in their own homes without the worry of food insecurity. We serve as a safety net for this very vulnerable population focused on reducing hunger, providing nutrition, alleviating isolation, improving safety, and increasing quality of life. MOW-ABC currently serves 400 homebound seniors each weekday and is the largest provider of at-home meal delivery services in Western North Carolina.
