The Bharath Abhyudaya Seva Samithi

The Bharath Abhyudaya Seva Samithi (BASS), is an Indian Progressive Service Society, located in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh is an Indian registered non-governmental voluntary organization established in 1978. BASS seeks to improve the livelihoods of children, youth, women and vulnerable people—those who are at the highest risk due to challenging socio-economic conditions. BASS works to bring relief and opportunity to rural and urban communities negatively impacted by poverty.

The activities of the organization seek to promote social justice, equality and empowerment to disadvantaged peoples and victims of disasters in the Guntur district. BASS facilitates many activities including: educational, economic, social, health and emergency relief and rehabilitation services. For the past 38 years, BASS has been actively organizing relief and rehabilitation services, providing much needed resources to disaster victims and displaced people.

BASS is legally entitled to receive charitable donations as a registered organization under the Societies Registration Act 1860 with registered No.162 of 1978 dated 16-12-1978. BASS also registered with the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs under the Foreign Contributions (Regulation) Act, 1976 with registered number 010190145 dated 14-8-1992; and as well as renewed FCRA Registration dated 4-8-2016. BASS also being registered under 12 A of Income Tax Act 1961 dated 27-2-2004. BASS annually submits financial and income tax documentation to the Government of India’s Ministry of Home Affairs.
