The Ixtatán Foundation was organized in 2001 to help the people in and around San mateo Ixtatán, Huehuetenango, Guatemala
Our mission is to enhance socioeconomic development in the San Mateo area by creating greater access to education and community development programs, that promote creativity, diversity of thought and resource sharing while honoring the local culture.
We envision San Mateo Ixtatán as a thriving Chuj Maya community where everyone has access to quality education, gainful employment and health care.
