Handbags of Hope provides education, support, and advocacy - through community collaboration - to end domestic and sexual violence and promote an equitable, safe environment for all. Programs receive handbags filled with a variety of necessities. Programs are in tri-county and across the State.
At Handbags of Hope we understand the importance of a woman’s purse to her everyday life. We basically run a small world from it. Our concept is simple we ask women to donate handbags they no longer use. Each bag is filled with items of necessity, creating a functional purse. Our bags are gifted locally and across the State to 21 Domestic Violence programs and Teen Empowerment programs.
Ourorganization is run by 2 women, all volunteers with no compensation paid. We rely 90% on donation of purses and products. Our funding comes from our fundraisers, local businesses and individuals. We gift 2500 purses a year.
