Solicitude for orphans children support group

Solicitude for Orphans Children Support Group{SFOCSG} is a non-profit, community based charity organization, with its focus on community development. The CBO has a defined target groups: Orphans and Vulnerable Children, Widowed, Women, People Living With HIV/AIDS and Youth. It was established in 2002 and registered in Kenya under The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection on 20th July, 2004. It is located in the Soweto slums in Kayole-Nairobi, Kenya.

MISSION STATEMENT

• To facilitate community based efforts to enhance and protect the quality of life of the inhabitants, (in particular children) living in the urban slums.
• To identify the individual and collective needs of the people living in the selected slum area.
• To encourage participation of our members, in promoting the objectives of the organization.

We are giving care to the needy in the community, orphans and vulnerable children, widows, women youth and people living with HIV/AIDS by providing food, clothing, empowerment, educational support, including spiritual, physical, psychological and social guidance.

We work with women and youth groups in our community. We have specialized community health workers and peer educators that goes to our area of operation and work with these groups both in the community and schools.
