As the central focal point in the state of South Carolina on animal welfare issues, The Humane SPCA operates the lowest cost spay-neuter clinic in the state with over 6,200 surgeries completed in 2001. Our full-time cruelty investigator conducted 909 cruelty investigations covering a five county area. We continue to coordinate the efforts of animal welfare organizations throughout the state, ensuring their representation in matters concerning the legislation. We continue to provide lost and found services and to reach out to the community in an effort to educate everyone on animal welfare.
