W.O. Smith Nashville Community Music School has provided music education to thousands of low-income children who otherwise would not have been able to afford such instruction since 1984. Named for the late music professor and noted jazz bassist, William Oscar Smith, the school makes quality music instruction available to children, ages 7 through 18, from low-income families for the cost of ¢50 per lesson. More than 200 volunteer teaching artists provide instruction to 500 children annually at the non-profit school. The school also makes instruments, music, and learning materials available to students at no additional expense. For more information, please visit www.wosmith.org
