COMMUNITY BIKE WORKS teaches life lessons through bicycle mechanics to the young people of Allentown and the Lehigh Valley who need us most.
Our flagship Earn a Bike program celebrates 20 years in 2015! Since 1995, 5000 students have spent time with mentors to refurbish bikes of their own, while learning skills including communication, teamwork, and perseverance.
We also offer Earn a Book, Drop-in, and Youth Leadership programming, as well as trail, road, track, and mountain biking opportunities. In the words of youth apprentice Kyle: "Community Bike Works is more than learning how bikes work. It's learning how life works!"
