Basta was founded in July 2016 to bridge the gap between college and careers for first-generation college graduates of color. Through partnerships with employers and development programs for graduates, Basta equips first-generation graduates to secure and thrive in their first jobs while supporting employers to embrace talent practices that increase workforce diversity. Across the last year, Basta has served 40 graduates through a fall and spring program. Graduates from our first cohorts have landed full-time roles at companies such as NBC Universal, JP Morgan, and Vanguard, as well as top nonprofits and government fellowship programs like the NYC Urban Fellows Program.
