CASA of Jackson County

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is a court mandated, non-profit program which provides CASA volunteers to advocate for abused and/or neglected children in the care of Child Welfare. Our organization recruits, screens, trains, appoints, and supports almost 250 CASA volunteers who advocate for 900 children annually in Jackson and Josephine Counties Oregon. CASAs ensure each child's voice and needs are heard in court and beyond. They work with schools, physicians, child welfare, and others to ensure a child's needs are met. CASAs remain on the child's case until it closes, average 2 years, and become the only consistent person in the child's life during this time. CASA advocates for children birth through 21 and although we serve 900 children a year, there are still 400 on our waiting list. Funding for program is the most important element of our being able to continue to serve our children and reach out to the children still waiting.
