Everyone's Closet

Everyone's Closet is an organization that loans/gives durable medical equipment (i.e. wheelchairs, walkers, and hospital beds) to members of the New York City community who could not otherwise obtain it without experiencing financial hardship. Through our relationships with hospitals, other non-profits, and private estates, we acquire and maintain an inventory of these supplies, which we offer our clients regardless of their race, religion, or form of impairment. Three million New Yorkers do not have health insurance and many more have insurance without effective coverage. Most of these people have limited financial resources, and should they get injured, need a way of obtaining medical equipment quickly and free of charge.

We currently transport the equipment directly to donors' residences or allow donors to pick-up equipment from our storage location in Sunnyside, Queens, but in the future we hope to primarily operate from a storefront in a set-up similar to Goodwill.
