The New York Public Library - Cullman Center for Scholars & Writers

  • Acerca de

The Center awards fellowships to 15 people a year – creative writers, academics, and independent scholars, from all over the world – to come work in the fabulous research collections at The New York Public Library at Fifth Ave. and 42nd Street. The Fellows have their own offices in the Center from September through May. They talk about their work at lunch-time presentations, in public evening programs, and informally with each other and Center staff members throughout the year.

The writers and scholars publish books based on work they do at the Center. Former Fellows include Colm Toibin, Andrew Delbanco, Colson Whitehead, Nell Freudenberger, Nathan Englander, Sean Wilentz, David Blight, Brent Edwards, Colum McCann, Hermione Lee, Nathan Englander, Jose Manuel Prieto, Jennifer Egan, Andrew Sean Greer, Robert O’Meally, Edmund White, Patrick Keefe – and lots more!

The Center also offers Summer Seminars for high school and middle school teachers.

Please go to our website, www.nypl.org/csw, for biographies of current Fellows and information about our programs.
