CIS of NYC was funded in 1999 and since then has made a large impact in its community. Inspired by the life of St. Francis Xavier Cabrini, patroness of immigrants, Cabrini Immigrant Services of New York City (CIS-NYC) is committed to empowering immigrants, their families and their communities through education, participation and essential services. We strive to create positive change by fostering justice, dignity and respect.
CIS of NYC provides a wide range of services for their community, including the largest food pantry in the Lower East Side, legal and social services, ESOL classes and advocates for the DREAM Act and Immigration Reform with its Justice for Immigrants (JFI) group.
